He gives you tools to use in implementing a behavior management plan; the foremost part being to think carefully about your interactions with your children and to implement a consistent response of cause and effect. Many of the ideas will be familiar to parents who deal with behavior issues. What is especially helpful about this book is its logical presentation and the number of practical ideas and the empowerment that the book provides. It is helpful to read a book that accepts that sometimes parenting can be a tough but important job, and provides advice without assigning an overwhelming amount of blame to the child or parent.
